I bought these based on the above average reviews I saw on Amazon. When I received them and realized they used 3 AAA batteries, I was concerned about brightness and how long they'd run in timer mode, which is typically how I use these battery-powered candles. With fresh AAA's (I admittedly use NiMH rechargeables, which are lower output voltage and current capacity than buy-once-and-toss Duracells or Energizers), the initial brightness is great, but within 3-4 days they start to dim dramatically and by day 5 or 6 you can't even tell they're lit. I have other battery powered candles which run for several weeks on 4 rechargeable AA's or 2 C's. I'm happier with those than these budget candles from Comenzar.the electronic flame is large and brighter than those in most other candles. They cast a fairly bright and wide light and illuminate a wall behind them. The drips are realistic looking. While the pictures shows the candles as a nice amber color, the candles them selves are white when they are not turned on. However, the flame itself is amber which makes the candle light amber when turned on.These are visually great candle lights. I wish they were remotely controlled but the 6 hr on - then off for 18 option is a reasonable compromise. They do consume batteries at a greater rate than expected - but if you're going with ProCell or the new Amazon line, that's not the expense that it used to be. They do create a very pleasant atmosphere.These are so real looking everyone is dismayed to see a plastic flame inside; wax coating with side dripping, uneven edge like real candles burn, a flickering flame and a beautiful crime color to allow light out as pictured. I recommend these especially if you have children, pets or are fearful you will forget them burning. This year they are going on the window sill and I won't worry about curtains nearby.I like these but I wish the timer wasn't 6 hours, the batteries don't last too long. Next time I would probaly opt for 4 hour timer.The three candles look pretty and the timer works. My only complaint would be the batteries seemed to go quicker than I expected.Candles are beautiful, however my timers to not work :-( The largest candle is also a strange shape - more oval than round. I'm ordering a different set to see if they are better.Very Realistic with the wax. Love the timer and the weight of the candles. Just set and forget. Outstanding thus far, will see how they handle winter weather inside a lantern.
